What hotels actually want from WhatsApp
Guests already live in WhatsApp — asking for a bill, a late checkout, or directions from the station is more likely to happen there than by phone call or email. The appeal for a hotel is obvious: fewer calls at the front desk, and a record of what was said. Where it gets confusing is that "WhatsApp for hotels" covers a wide range, from a single tap-to-send link all the way to a fully automated assistant — and not every claim online means the same thing.
What's live in Orajic HMS today
WhatsApp Redirect is live and free on every plan: a one-tap link staff use to send a guest's bill straight to their WhatsApp instead of printing it or reading out totals. Beyond that, staff can message guests directly in whatever language the guest prefers — English, Hindi and Marathi are common — since the message itself is written by a person, not a template engine.
What's coming
Automatic check-in messages and a shared WhatsApp inbox with staff takeover are built for the Pro plan and marked coming soon — not switched on for hotels yet. When they land, the idea is that routine messages (a check-in confirmation, a reminder) send themselves, while anything that needs a human hands off to staff inside the same inbox.
If you want automated WhatsApp today
Orajic's Orajic FirstReply is a separate product that answers customer messages, captures leads and books appointments around the clock in English, Hindi and Marathi — built for any business, hotels included, and available now rather than coming soon. A hotel that wants full automation before HMS's own version ships can run the two side by side.
